DICE announced on January 30th details for a Community Test Environment, or CTE, where select members of the Battlefield 1 community will be able to test out changes to the game and provide developers with feedback. According to DICE, "The CTE lets us share our development process with our players, get your valuable feedback earlier, and keep improving the Battlefield 1 experience. The earlier we can get player feedback and full 64 player servers testing our latest features – the better off we’re going to be." Here's 3 key details:

  1. Initially access the CTE will only be offered to a select few, beginning on PC and spreading later to console
  2. DICE will announce when open registration begins and signing up will be occur via the Battlefield 1 Companion App
  3. A Battlefield 1 Premium Pass is required to access the CTE

DICE also released the first set of patch notes for the CTE. These are features potentially upcoming in the March DLC which are being tested before widespread rollout. Here's the top 3 potentially new features:

  1. Ribbons - 20 different ones each offering 500XP can be collected during the game
  2. New Max Class Rank - 50 instead of the current 10
  3. Vote for Next Map - after the match end players can vote on which map is played next
