Leviathan Rising Takes Over Battlefield 2042

The latest in-game event for Battlefield 2042 will be available for players to enjoy later this month between April 11 and the 25th. In it, you'll be introduced to Shutdown, an 8v8 experience where your squad becomes the most important thing to have at your advantage. You'll earn ribbons as you switch between attacking and defending in two total rounds with the attackers planting Lances and the defenders eliminating the Lance Carriers.

Players can also take advantage of new mechanics including the introduction of the Lance, a portable device that destroys data within an enclosed area. Attackers are expected to plant the Lance in the objective area and score points for keeping it alive. Defenders, on the other hand, have to try and shut down the Lance to prevent it from going off, closing the map ever tightly around you.

Of course, what good woud all of this be if there weren't rewards? The store will have free bundles to claim as well as a few for purchase. We've listed below all of the rewards you'll get each week that you play through the event:

Week 1 - 15 Ribbons - Epic “Contagion” Weapon Charm, 40 Ribbons - Epic “Kilobyte” Weapon Skin for the AK-24, and 75 Ribbons - Epic “Code Execution” Specialist Set for Paik.

• Rare "Leviathan Division" Weapon Charm will be available for free in the store.

Week 2 - 15 Ribbons - Epic “Marked for Death” Weapon Charm, 40 Ribbons - Rare “Domain Authority” Vehicle Skin for the AH-64GX Apache Warchief, and 75 Ribbons - Epic “Denial of Service” Specialist Set for Casper.

• Rare "Activation" Weapon Skin for the AM40 will be available for free in the store.
